Description

A new dance studio has opened up on the 800 block of Alter street. While I welcome the new business I am not sure the signs they put up are legal. If the space, a garage is used as a garage I could understand the sign. But there are other garages used as garages that do not have these signs. This place is not being used as a garage and I feel the signs aren't legal. Also the area where the sign is located actually omits a parking spot for a small vehicle. This is a small street and parking for homeowners is hard enough and now 3 spots are omitted. Usually people park in front of garages after hours and I think that garage has the right to put up a "no parking sign" in front of the garage but not to the left and right. See photo. Any ideas if this is legal? Why don't the other actual garages, one being for the auto shop, have such a sign??? A small car can easily fit between the garage and the next building. This is not used as a garage but a dance studio.
