Description

The traffic going south on W. Lake Houston Pkwy needs a second turn lane to turn West on the Sam Houston Pkwy. The traffic in the right lane backs up on W Lake Houston for 2-3 miles, while this 2nd right lane sits empty. The back up is in existence 7 days a week, but the morning time from around 6:45 - 8:30 is the worst because of school traffic.

Most intersections along the beltway have 2 turn lanes; one that is a turn only and another that is a turn or go straight. That is what is needed here. There is ample room for the addition since the traffic is turning onto a 3 lane road.

I submitted this request a while back and it was closed a couple of hours later as "no issue found." Perhaps someone could actually go and observe the intersection before stating something that is false.
