Description
The section of Reamer Ave from Trenholm Road to Satchelford Road is dangerous in both directions for both drivers going to and from Satchelford Elementary School and the local Children and peolpe walking or riding bikes in the neighborhood. I have reported this issue many times and will continue to do so... when I am running or biking around town and see roads such as Portobello in Lake Catherine, a dead end street being repaved for the citizens to get to and from their homes...and no problems were cited on that road! The DOT certainly is swayed by something other than true dangerous driving conditions and the safety of our public school children!

Just like our neighborhoods in Huffman Heights and Skyland Estates, Broad River Road bridge and Columbia Canal with part of the Three Rivers Walkway leading to the Diversion Dam is very dangerous no one of importance responds. It has a park beneath it that lead to Riverfront Park before these DOT workers shut it off and even detoured roads making our neighborhoods full of traffic and pot holes and loss of income from houses for sale, condos for sale, and expensive property going into bankruptcy.
One car was pushed behind by traffic crashing into the side boulders, going straight down, and whoever was in that vehicle hit the river boulders and drowned.
It is an area used by so many workers and drivers and patients going to and from Palmetto Richland Hospital and it's medical buildings waiting over 4 years for answers. Why should a simple bridge take this long to replace? Only one side is finished and supposedly working on the other side. It affects blocks including Greystone Blvd., River Hill Circle on both sides of Broad River Road, and Broad River Road. This road affects emergency responders...fire, police, ambulance, and others who use it many times daily to save lives and property.
It seems the only way to get any answers when no one is getting anywhere after a long time is to take videos, signed petitions, go to tv stations with your information, have a reporter come out to film it, interview people it affects, and have it on tv.
Please look at my neighbors and my issues with various titles and PLEASE VOTE. Read first one with a title of "MIA Broad River Road Bridge/Columbia Canal and Park" which leads to others of the same topic. The bridge was almost taken out by one of their cranes on a rubber barge almost crashing leaning sideways during a simple rain storm. Think of the consequences had it collapsed and hit all the bridges in Columbia including I-26 and I-126 Elmwood Bridge into town.
I am voting on yours.
