Description
If you are traveling by sidewalk between Jones Bridge and Kimball Bridge on Water Rd, you will be forced to cross the street at very dangerous locations. There is also a substation under repair which limits sidewalk availability as well.
The city needs to provide decent sidewalks on Waters Road!

Improving sidewalk connectivity along Waters Road is included in the City's overall sidewalk improvement plan and associated projects are part of our 5-year capital improvement plan. It is important to note, however, that funding of projects is dependant upon availability and the prioritization of overall capital needs / projects city-wide.
At this time, we do not have a specific timeline for making the connections along Waters Road.

The timing and prioritization of sidewalk projects are influenced by a number of factors. Some are strategic; improving connectivity to neighborhoods in close proximity to a school, for example. Sometimes a road project may provide opportunity to address sidewalks along the road corridor while tapping into state or federal dollars that would be otherwise unavailable.
Currently, sidewalk dollars are prioritized to efforts along Rucker and Mayfield Roads that coincide with larger roadway corridor improvement projects.
