Description

Harry, if you are in the northbound lane of Piedmont Ave, around 10th and farther north (there are several of these from that location, up to Piedmont Park), there are some grates in the road, center of the northbound lane, unnoticable to cars because cars wheels straddle the grate-holes. The street was evidently repaved (maybe several times) and the grates were never raised. They are 2 or 3 inches below street level. No problem for a car, but on a motorcycle following a car, the dang things show up after the car you are following passes over them, too late for a following motorcycle to avoid. They wreck the hell out of a motorcycle. Can the city please raise the grates to be at same elevation as the rest of the street by putting some spacers under them, please? I think the depth of the drop hitting these is as much or more than any potholes I've seen on your show. I hope you can get them fixed, and thank you in advance for bringing them to the attention of the city, before they wreck some guy on a motorcycle (motorcycle wheels are usually in the center of the road, unlike car wheels, and hit the things. Potholes happen naturally, we should not engineer them.
