Description

The sidewalk on the south side of Peeler Rd. comes to Winters Chapel Rd but there is no crosswalk to get to the island between Peeler Rd and Winters Chapel Rd. There is a sidewalk from that island across Winters Chapel Rd to get to the new Neighborhood Walmart, just no crosswalk to get to that island from the Peeler Rd. sidewalk.

Plus in general we need a major public awareness campaign that motorists MUST STOP for all pedestrians in the crosswalk. This evening was my wife and I attempted to cross Peeler Rd. in the crosswalk, no only did a driver NOT stop, but they started to cross the double yellow line to go around/in front of us - until we both made eye contact with the driver and screamed that we're in the crosswalk! and that he is supposed to STOP!

Dunwoody Public Works reported this has been completed, but it has not. All that has been done is the handicap ramps were cut into the curbs. There is still no painted crosswalk and no sign alerting drivers that there is a crosswalk ahead.
