There actually was a fender bender involving the blocking bus last year. The bus pulled back into the parking lot with its load of children. I know I would be incensed if my child road the bus and was being used to block traffic.

You have got to be kidding. Buses blocking traffic? You must be VERY UNHAPPY to complain about this. Aren't there more important things to be concerned about. The drivers job is KIDS FIRST!!! Live with it. How much time do YOU lose waiting for the buses to clear. God, you are ridiculous!!!!

It's not an issue of having to wait for the traffic to clear. If they had a traffic signal there to let the bus drivers in that would be fine. I wait to leave that parking lot every school day due to the backed up traffic and I have no problem with that. Using CHILDREN to block traffic I DO have a problem with. It's irresponsible, dangerous and totally reckless.

did anyone ever think that the bus drivers do a amazing job dealing with fast, uncaring people on the road everyday, cutting them off, going through there lights? did anyone ever see parents how uncaring they are when it comes to the school parking lot? parents continuously walk their children between the buses, in a hurry, try to out run the buses out of the parking lot because they want to be first.
GIVE THE DRIVERS A BREAK!

I have timed the busses leaving Wyandotte several times. Under 45 seconds for all 12 busses to pull out of the school. Slow down and give the caretakers of the kids a BREAK!

To the more recent commenters: Again, it is NOT an issue of inconvenience or time. I drive my child to that school every day and pick him up every day. I do NOT care how long it takes the bus drivers to leave the parking lot or how long traffic is blocked. It is a matter of them using CHILDREN to do so. What in God's name is wrong with you people?

They are not using children to block traffic, they are using a bus. This is done so all the busses can get out safely at one time. I don't want to alarm you, but a bus rolling 45 MPH is much more dangerous for unrestrained students than stopped blocking traffic for 45 seconds. This is how traffic management is done, have you ever exited an event with police directing traffic? Safer to use a bus than a man with only a flashlight.
