Description

This stop sign needs an update. It should be a STOP ON RED or Yield. 1) when the signal light is green and traffic is flowing, the STOP SIGN still requires a full legal stop before preceding north on San Pablo, thereby creating a potential traffic hazard, where traffic is flowing west from El Portal Dr to Broadway. Vehicles making the right hand turn while the light is green may not be paying attention and collide with another vehicle stopped at the Stop Sign. A "domino effect" can be creating with all vehicles traveling towards the intersection to make the right hand turn.

The Stop sign is otherwise fine when the Signal light is RED.

Perhaps an additional signal light is warranted for this location.
