Description

The right turn lane when traveling North on 34th street planning to turn onto Girard Ave to cross the bridge is constantly backed up. It is a combination of heavy traffic, back to back traffic lights and the 76N exit ramp merging onto 34th street. There is a single designated right turn lane as well as a right turn arrow, but it still gets very backed up. Because of this, cars are constantly illegally turning right from the center/straight lane. Since Girard is two lanes, they aren't really cutting off the cars that are legally turning right, but it is very annoying and slightly dangerous. So, I propose a double right turn lane. This will help with the congestion and reduce my frustration of these people illegally turning right. If that is not possible, I propose more police ticketing of these cars making the illegal right turns from the center lane. It literally happens with at least one car every other light cycle. Thanks.
