why weren't more appealing ones installed with brick pavers? the city of west park installed a nice one last month.

Traffic Control Devices are detailed by FDOT and should be constructed to accommodate the speed posted. However I lost that that battle when SW Ranches started to be the community obstructionist. It is a City Hall issue and I don't live in SW Ranches but some of my friends do.

The point of speed humps is to make you SLOW DOWN below the posted speed limit.

Well, I have seen several cars, both low and high, have no issues driving well above 25 mph over the speed humps. There is a resident at the corner of NW 106th and 18th that is wheelchair bound who has said she was nearly run over numerous times b/c of speeding vehicles and now b/c of the speed humps she has noticed a significant difference in her safety when trying to cross the road. Also, another resident, a 6'9" black man was nearly run over several times before the speed humps when trying to either cross the street or even retrieve his mail. SOOOO, the speed humps are doing their job. Point is, all you have to do is slow down just a tad for just a second. Where does anyone really have to go in that much of a hurry that it's worth taking someone's life???
