Description
This road always has potholes, but now at the intersection close to Oak Forest there's a pothole that could take out a vehicle if hit the right way (near right hand turn lane onto Oak Forest coming from Litchford). This road is notorious for it's many potholes - there are probably 6 or 7 now that are always being filled up and within a month or two are back. Can this road be totally repaved?

I have logged in the issue at our pothole hotline email inbox (pothole@raleighnc.gov). When I hear back from them I will update this issue. Please be patient with us as the recent weather has caused a lot of pavement damage out there. The crews are working as hard as they can to catch up. Thanks.
In this particular case my recollection is that this section of street may not be constructed to City standard (no curb and gutter). We will have someone check this out, but in this case the City will not repave the street entirely until it is improved to City standard either through the petition process, wherein the adjacent property owners petition to have the City improve the street, and agree to pay an assessment, or the City Council chooses to put the improvements on the Capital Improvement Program as one of a series of major road improvements around the City. As you might imagine there are greater needs out there than there are resources, so the Council has to prioritize how they spend the citizen's money on projects like this. I will update this issue when I have more information.

Old Wake Forest Road in this location is maintained by NCDOT (it is outside our City Limits). In order to inquire about resurfacing plans please call the Division Engineer's office at 733-2191. Mike Reddick, our street maintenance supervisor will check Oak Forest Road for any potholes. Oak Forest Road does not have curb and gutter so it doesn’t qualify for resurfacing by the City as I noted in the previous post. It would have to go through the petition process.
