I am a 27 year old disabled female who has to sit in buildings where there are not any cooled rooms. The upstairs part of the building, where My class is located is usually around 80 degrees mid day and range up to 90 degrees in the evenings. I have complained to administrators as well as my instructor. However, the college says it may take up until December to get this problem fixed. I am a student who takes chemo and other medications and cannot bare to sit thru class much less learn. I have taken it upon myself to bring in a box fan for my classes to be able to tolerate this. We have had days where it has been 86 degrees around lunch time and the heat only rises throughout the day. I was wondering if you could please help with our situation? I can not imagine with the funds that the college has, why can they not fix this situation quicker than December. It will be cold outside before any of the air/heat will be fixed. I hear from instructors also that the newest building on the campus also has had air conditioning problems, it blows out hot air instead of cold. Causing problems for even more students.
