Why bother having alternate side parking bans if the plows don't plow the side of the street we're not supposed to park on. On 1/12/11 I was outside most of the day trying to dig myself and neighbors out of the snow. I saw only one city plow truck come down the street between 11am-5pm. Not until 10:30pm that night did another plow come down the road. The street was so poorly plowed that at least four cars got stuck in the middle of the road (the part that "was" plowed). I know 3rd Ave isn't a main street, but I drove around town around 9:30pm and found several streets (even dead ends) in the West Shore area plowed clean as a whistle! What upsets me the most is for once everone in the neighborhood actually parked on the odd side of the street......yet the plows didn't help clean up the street any better than the dozen or so people that were shoveling did.
It is 2/11/11. The even numbered side of the street still has not been cleared and cars are still unable to park there. Residents of this street do not all have private driveways or garages so street side parking is needed. The lack or parking due to poor plowing and a parking ban that didn't help the situation has made coming home from a long day at work very univiting.
