Description
I am at #174 N State St. On-Street parking is almost impossible in front of my house due to a van/car parked there during last snow storm - at night the vehicle from next store (small compact car) parks inbetween this another snow bank left either by private/city plow.
We either need MANDATORY off-street parking and/or ALTERNATE side parking during snow-storms -- as it is getting very dangerous... not only to pedestrians such as myself trying to get to my car to go to work in morning... but to my vehicles; as I am forced to park in the street by my landlord when it's not snowing. If these cars moved - the city plow could clear the streets.
The picture attached - is how our street looked last year during a snow storm; not only did/do our cars get plowed in... but storm drains as well.
We recently were told that we can park off-street until storm(s) end and streets are plowed... but during the blizzard last week -- this was useless due to 2 vehicles parked behind where we park... and the city plow didn't even bother to go around the cars and ATTEMPT to clear in front/behind the vehicle parked!

Those two cars pictured have a nice big driveway they can park in yet choose to park in the street. And makes it very hard to come out of the driveway right there as well.
The van should be towed as it never moves and the other white van should be put in the driveway where the owner lives. All the people that park in that particular area have driveways yet park on the road and then complain when they get plowed in.

This is still occuring - Help!
There is a HUGE snow bank in front of the van now - causing a hazard for the house across the street backing in/out of their driveway.
Can the city - Public Works please come and remove this snow!

Here's an updated image of the recent snowstorm (prior) to most recent on 1/28 - it's even talled & higher now & is blocking storm drain right in front of telephone pole.
My vehicle pictured here is no longer able to be parked behind or in front of where is is in this photo - as the van and other car from neighbor next-door is in those areas and I do not have full-time driveway access.
BIG hazard folks! Help us please!!

Signs were just posted & placed on windsheids on 1/31 from 7am - 3pm - there is no parking allowed on N. State due to snow removal!
Thank you Kim, Lisa and Ansonia PD for helping us and listening.
Once this snow has been cleared - I will close this issue.
Hopefully before the next snow storm - they won't allow ANY parking and the road can be cleared A LOT better and we won't have to go through this again.

Well - as good as a job could/was done today with all the snow/ice removal from the street.
Hope the City of Ansonia wises up next storm - especially with a BIG snowfall and makes no-parking MANDATORY on this narrow street as it is.
Closing for now - will reopen was necessary.
Thanks again for listening/helping... Ansonia PD & Public Works!

There's only parking on one side of the road on N State, and a few other roads in Ansonia. I think there's a total of four, it's listed on the city website. For storms, if they enforced it, NO ONE is supposed to park on the street at all. Ticket these cars! Or better yet, TOW THEM! The cops used to come by and make the announcement, sometimes at 12am to move your cars immediately..what happened to that????
