Description
Whenever I cross 7th ave. on Irving -- a busy commercial area -- I fear for my life, with cars speeding along as if they're still on the expressway portion of 7th (up the hill). Also, when I'm forced by street cleaning to look for parking on that part of 7th, drivers behind me are quick to honk rudely behind me, again as if they think it's still an expressway.
I'd like to see signage and speed limit enforcement on 7th between about Judah/Kirkham and Lincoln.
This is a residential / commercial area, not a highway.

Dear Peter,
I will pressure MTA/DPT to step up. Various traffic calming strategies are
in play for the vicinity but do not extend to some parts of the area you
remark. I'll copy the MTA liaison to this note as well.

Our traffic calming project does include 7th Avenue. On your block, the proposal is to convert one of the southbound lanes to a two way left turn lane. This will allow for only one through lane in the southbound direction, allowing the most prudent driver to set the speed. This will also allow a place for you to wait for a gap in traffic as you turn into your driveway. Left turns throughout the corridor should be made safer and overall speeds should be reduced.
