SFPD and the CHP should be ashamed of the non-action. However, this goes much deeper than an individual officer taking action. It goes to the management of the departments and political mind-set in the City. The inaction is an admission that the homeless issues cannot, and will not, be solved until those responsible get some guts to deal with the issue head-on. Until then, lets hope new buyers of South Beach property and visitors to the area are not discouraged by what they see. Basically, we must live the lie and let the Mayor and Board of Supervisors continue to make rules rendering action by law enforcement unrealistic to say the least and dangerous for us all.
