yes it should be landmarked, but the only attempt made has been to make the arch itself a landmark. I dont know if they couldnt or wouldnt make the whole field a landmark. Restoration of the walls has been discussed with the new director of public works. The Pershing Field Friends met with him and other park groups in a discussion of all the needs of the parks. I think it would be an excellent apprentice mason project with the unions, because it will take years.
