The Road Commission of Macomb County has scheduled Hayes (21-1/2 to 23 Mile) to be widened to five lanes in 2012.

According to the Macomb Commission website they are to widen Hayes from 21 1/2 Mile to 23 Mile Road starting in 2012.

Macomb Township has this issue on it's next board meeting agenda. They're looking into cost-sharing to make this happen.

The Road Commission has already obtained federal funding and scheduled construction to widen Hayes from 21-1/2 Mile to 23 Mile for 2012. The cost sharing agreement Macomb Twp has on the agenda is the agreement provided to them by the Road Commission to share in the project cost, beginning with design and preliminary engineering costs being planned for this year.

This issue cannot be closed until the raod construction is complete. That is when we can say the problem is fixed. Just by having plans on paper or in the agenda does not mean the issue is fixed.

RCMC wrote that "The Road Commission of Macomb County has scheduled Hayes (21-1/2 to 23 Mile) to be widened to five lanes in 2012". We are almost coming to the close of 2012. Do not see any work taking place or any signs of beggining of the road widening work.
