Description

The roads and the sidewalks of Cass Street have been in deplorable conditions of for over 15 years with no attention or repair. Most recently a 2 + foot deep hole in the side walk that has been patched repeatedly after work on a water or gas line but now the hole sits on the sidewalk with a cone over it. The cone has been in place for about 2 months without the hole being repaired. The side walks have uncountable buckles and is impossible to walk safely on. Several years ago an elderly resident tripped one of the buckles and was severely injured. Some of the problematic issues of the sidewalk are due to a city fire truck which damaged the sidewalk while attending to a fire on the street. The roadway arks and is in terrible condition. All of this has been reported to the City, our Alderman, the former City Engineer and yet nothing every happens to get Cass Street sidewalks or the street improved. Today street improvements were announced and Cass Street was not on the list. When will this street and the poor conditions of this street be addressed and repaired?
