Description
This intersection of S. Church St (5-lanes) & The Main Entrance for Smithfield Plaza Shopping Center + Anna's (A busy Italian restaurant) Makes for a busy intersection. Add the Major Intersection of RT-10 and RT-258 just south and you've got a mess. Traffic needs to be opened up to ease congestion in this area. Adding a route from the newly constructed Hampton Inn and connecting to the Bloom's Parking lot would help matters greatly.

I agree. Went to McDonald's this past week. When we pulled out, we pulled into the middle turning lane. A cop pulled us because, it is not legal to do so.....however, if you do not do that, then you never get out during peak time (between 4:30-6pm).

Sure doesn't seem like reporting any of this stuff does any good. No improvements to just about every issue that I've seen posted. I did see quite a few vdot trucks sitting at a few intersections around town and along the 17 corridor. I've also noticed quite a bit of roads getting re striped that needed to be paved instead. WHAT IS VDOT DOING ALL DAY?!?!?!?!?

Smithfiled only claims 5K people live in town. I think hat is total BS. Smithfield and Isle of Wight are lying about the population. Any uneducated person can tell that the population in Smithfield ad Isle wight is at leat 3 times what they claim
