brown292bare the problem isn't cautious semi-truck drivers, it is the drivers on Dobery (service drive) that drive too fast, you shouldn't have to "step on the gas" the speed limit on Merrill is only 35,the same as the service drive! Maybe you should slow down and drive like you do have a bowl of gold fish. At peak traffic times it is difficult to cross, and many cars use the intersection, not just trucks.

MAM732, i don't know who drives 35 on the service drive none of the vehicles i see. most do 45-50 cause they may have just got m-59 e-way. everyone just seems to ignore limit signs because they are in a big rush to get where there going.best to avoid going that way. Easier to go a block or mile out of my way and not have headache trying to cross at that point,you should try it!!!

This is still an issue that needs atttention. As the police know of the accidents and the road comission knows of the guardrails and fencing needed to be replaced because of accidents you would think they both would like to eliminate the problem. Yes speeding cars and heavy traffic on eastbound Dobery Dr. is the issue most of which are exiting M59 at the Mound exit and re-entering M59 east of Utica Rd. to avoid backups on eastbound M59. A timed light at peek traffic hours and flashing yellow in off peak would help traffic flow safely.

This problem still exist and in my opinion has gotten worse. Accidents still happen and at certain times of the day it is almost impossible to cross through the intersection in either direction. Traffic does not do the 35 mph speed limit and some times they go faster than traffic on the freeway. At least if there was a traffic light it would brake up the traffic and maybe slow traffic down a little.

I guess no one with any influence really cares about this issue. So accidents will still happen and people will get killed and no one will really care.
