Police enforcement on 17th south of Eureka is ONE BIG JOKE. You never see them and if they parked anywhere on 17th between Pine and Eureka and did a little work (radar) they could write 25 tickets a day. Backing out of my driveway's like backing out onto a highway. People don't obey the speed laws at all because hey-why should they? There's never a cop around....put up a stop sign on Pine and 17th...that will at least slow them down a bit. High volume of traffic, school busses etc. Bad situation for years....

Time for a trip to see the Mayor and council at City Hall about this issue....police enforcement is non-existant.

Ongoing, same situation as my above statements...nothing has changed. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put up a couple of stop signs (unless you live in Wyandotte). Knock on any door in the neighborhood of 17th St. between Pine and Eureka (and even south to Orchard) and they will tell you 80% of the motorists are hauling @#$%. Ask the mailman. Ask anyone familiar with the street. They will tell you. I would bet traffic travels faster on 17th than Oak St. or Ford Ave. Cops are very busy these days but a few traffic signs would help rectify the situation...how about a small investment for a speed trailer? Could be used all over the city to slow down speeders but let's start on 17th.

Still a daily high volume of speeders....traffic enforcement is one big joke - a bad joke.

You'll see a lot of Wyandotte's finest at the 4th of July parade tommorow...probably on O.T. also. That's the only time they're highly visible....at the parades and art fairs.....I have been to council meetings, talked to officers about this situation for years-even decades from the top on down....why are they all against stop signs on Pine/17th? one @#$% off resident.

I did see a Police officer with radar last week on the corner of 17th/Eureka. A rare site. Thank you! Very appreciative of his efforts and I hope he nailed a few speeders. Maybe this is the beginning of resolving the bad situation of speeding traffic but stop signs on Pine/17th would definitely help the cause...

Wyandotte needs to invest in a speed trailer which can be used all over town and free up our officers to do other things. And what's so difficult about putting up a three way stop on the corner of Pine/17th?

What more can be said...stop signs and a speed trailer. Mild speed bumps (which can be removed in the Winter months for plowing)....

A neighbor told me a young boy was hit by a car riding his bike while racing his buddy going east on Pine street. They went through the yield sign and a car traveling the right-of-way north on 17th hit the youngster, breaking a couple ribs and splitting his head open-I'm told. Luckily the youngster survived. Even though it was his fault, if there was a stop sign on 17th at the corner the boy probably would not have gotten hit by the car. I don't know what's taking the authorities so long to fix this decades long dangerous situation.

Pine and 17th St. ...... 3-way stop signs. What's so difficult about that? If any residential intersection in the city needed it, it's here!

Still living on a highway disguised as a residential street....

Same old-same old. Saw a car pass an ice cream truck on the right last week at high speed. Delivery vehicles, school buses, residents, city vehicles all hauling @#$% to get to the traffic light on Eureka. NEVER see a cop. Met my new neighbor and the FIRST thing he said to me was "Man, they fly down this street". Nothing more can be said...

Wyandotte Police traffic enforcement is non-existent on 17th St. between Pine and Eureka. Speeding traffic all day long. That in addition to high traffic volume makes it a highway disguised as a residential street. NOTHING'S changed. You rarely even see a police car patrolling the area. PATHETIC.

Police are starting to patrol and writing a few tickets. Good start and thank you but still very much in need of a permanent solution. Stop signs, speed trailer, speed pads, etc...

Officers are now aware of the situation and writing a few tickets which is very much appreciated! A permanent solution still very much needs to be looked into..
