Description

There are loose manhole covers at the intersection of 24th Street and Spruce Street (one on the north side of the intersection, and one on the south side), and make loud "clunking" noises every time a car drives over them. Very disruptive and nerve-wracking. I have reported the issue to the Water Department, but nothing has been done, and when I called to follow up, was told by the representative that he had "no idea" when the problem would be addressed.

Philly311, thank you very much for the follow up and for forwarding on to the Streets Dept. As the issue has not been resolved yet (still hearing "ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk" right outside throughout the day and night) I am reopening the item and will close once fixed.

ISSUE STILL NOT RESOLVED. Called the Water Department again today. The Water Department said that I had to call the Streets Department. I called the Streets Department. The Streets Department said I had to call the Water Department.

Philly311, is this how citizen concerns are handled here?

ISSUE STILL NOT RESOLVED. HAVE ALSO SUBMITTED ONLINE COMPLAINT TO STREETS DEPARTMENT, WITH NO RESULT. UNBELIEVABLY POOR SERVICE FROM THE CITY. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT IRRITATION FOR MONTHS. DOES ANYONE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ADDRESSING ISSUES LIKE THIS OR IS IT ALL INCOMPETENCE AND INDIFFERENCE HERE?
