You should see the old Peck School on Holbrook St it is a shame I drove by there the otherday I would be out of my mind if I lived there I feel so sorry for anyone who does live there its so sad to see knowing what a nice neighborhood that it was at one time

Still nothing done and now some windows are boarded. Where is the new blight officer?

I spoke to the previous Blight Officer and he was working owner the plan at the time was it was eventually going to get torn down...Mr Tanner is no longer with the city and it appears Blight has been put on the back burner ... The way back burner..

Even worse condition . New blight officer but seems more concerned with sprucing up people's yards by having pw mow their lawns and trim their bushes. That's what was showcased in new mayor's flyer that showcased all his accomplishments and highlighted our new blight laws.

I miss Tanner.

Peck School will probably fall down on its own soon...seems to be getting taken apart brick by brick by the young folks who hang out there. If you ever attended that school, go take a look... you will feel like crying.

The new blight officer is only interested in cutting trees down everywhere. Buildings are crumbling and he wants to take more beauty away instead of preserving!

The residents should not HAVE to "call the blight officer" when a key part of the role is to travel throughout the city FINDING blight. The job is not to sit at a desk and wait for residents to call or send e-mails. We can get a minimum wage clerk to read e-mails, take calls and forward to the proper department for action.

If the city of Ansonia can't spot the dozens of decaying buildings to be found on almost every block in certain areas.... something is terribly wrong at City Hall.

Absolutely nothing being done with this house. Now roof is beginning to sag. Can only imagine the decay that is inside. This has to be a health issue at this point.

PLEASE stop responding to blight threads with "Call Blight Officer".

The Blight Officer is paid to LOOK FOR BLIGHT AND TAKE ACTION. He is not paid to sit at a desk, tell people to trim their hedges and wait for his phone to ring with blight reports.

He is to be OUT SURVEYING THE CITY AND RECORDING INSTANCES OF BLIGHT that he will then take action on when back in his office in addition to reports he may receive.

Please, the Blight Officer is not paid to be a receptionist. Let's not pretend he is.
