Why doesn't the Mayor look into leasing the Visitor Center to the Chamber of Commerce or other non-profit organization and have them run it (along with locating their offices there)? Given the limited tax revenue that the city is facing, the commissioners need to fund only those city services that provide the most value to the city tax payers. This budget item and related costs should be on the table for discussion – public safety and maintenance of infrastructure are higher on the priority list.
