Description

The green light turn lane signal on Rt 25E for people turning left (north) onto South Woods Rd is too short. Every day that turn lane backs up at least 1/10 of a mile because only about 6 or 7 cars can complete the turn before the light turns red. I've sat through it 3 times attempting to make that turn. Often drivers continue to make the left AFTER the signal has turned red, which has caused many, many close calls with people on the westbound side of the intersection. Many people avoid trying to make that left onto South Woods Rd and instead go through the shopping center parking lot behind the AT&T phone store on the NE corner - which creates a hazardous situation of people speeding through the parking lot. Other people make a right through the Best Western parking lot on the SE corner and then make a U turn on Piquets Lane so they can cross Rt 25 onto South Woods Rd. Another hazardous situation - all because the turn lane signal does NOT stay green long enough. Please fix this. It's ridiculous and dangerous.
