Seriously, People. If you drive Trapelo road from Mount Auburn to Waverly Square you know that this is a problem. You are either 1 of the 2 kinds of people:
1. The driver who stays close to the double yellow line as if in a regular lane on a regular street.
2. The driver who sucks and drive in and out of any small space they can find, ultimatly causing back up when they come to the realization in some areas of that road that there is only room for one car. But they still insist on driving as if there were two lanes and coming dangerously close to the other cars that are just following the yellow line.
This is ridiculous, everyone knows it, yet Belmont wants to keep this "2 lanes" even though there are not white lines. Let's be smart Belmont. Make it one lane by painting a huge bike lane and only giving room for one lane of cars. SMART.

I agree with you , Eddie. The road condition is a disgrace as well. But I think there are those pockets where drivers are just trying to get ahead by treating it as two lanes which ultimately makes everyone more aggressive on that road. It makes it dangerous for drivers and bikers alike.
I'm actually posting this as a driver, I didn't mean for it to be tagged a bike issue although it concerns them too. When I drive down Trapelo, I stay to the left as if there is a large bike lane. I try to maintain a relatively safe distance from the double yellow line since it is opposing traffic on the other side. However, I am often forced closer to the opposing traffic due to reckless drivers who want to pass everyone on the right. This always ends up causing problems because the so called 'right lane' always disappears in certain areas on trapelo which forces the reckless drivers back into the middle.
