Affordable towing comes through this parking lot every 10-20 minutes to tow away cars that are parked in this parking lot. Building 1228 has 2 apartments in the back and across from it there are 2/3 apartments. In order to get to your apartment you have to park on the street and walk through the parking lot. A friend of mine was moving his items in his apartment on a Friday night in which he had to park in the parking lot directly in front of the gateway that leads to his apartment. No more than 10 minutes later the car was gone. This parking lot has two ways (when you go in you can go through to the next street over. Nice size parking lot. He did not block off traffic or cause any traffic issues. It upsets me that these towing companies are allowed to tow your car for parking on there contracted parking areas, but the city street sweepers or police officers just gives you a ticket even if you double park. My friend contacted Affordable to get the car back but he was told he had to wait until Monday. Another upsetting issue. Why is the companies name is 24/7 Affordable Towing if your closed on Saturday and Sunday...and why do you charge for saturday and sunday if all intentions were getting the car back that same night??? I understand a no parking zone but there are people who live off of the parking lot area and if they have elderly parents, or moving heavy stuff or even bringing in grocery's why tow there cars. It is simple... take a drive around the block and if the car is still there then do your job. There has to be some kind of way to stop this...
