Description

Metro bus drivers pull off at bus stop trying to catch a light before it changes--as if they were driving their own cars with no regard for no one else but themselves. Meanwhile, passengers have just got off one bus at the same light--and they can't cross the street in oncoming traffic to get their next bus. Instead of Metro drivers looking across the street to see if other passengers are waving at them to get their next bus, they pull off trying to make a light, not even noticing that passengers are trying to cross the street to get their bus. It's as if they get some joy out of leaving passengers if they are not at the stop when they pull off. I feel that bus drivers at connecting bus intersections ought to at least wait until passengers at least can cross the street safely to get to their buses. This has been going on for years. The bus drivers have no courtesy or etiquette towards their passengers. They are often times rude and obnoxious and are only looking at the road and not paying attention to the passengers needs to board their buses. Also often times when buses are crowded-passengers do not move to the rear of the bus to let other passengers board. The drivers say nothing--leaving the passengers to ask other passengers to please move back. It is not our job to ask other passengers to move to the rear --it's the drivers job to do this. I think Metro drivers need training in common sense, and people management while operating their buses. They sit there and drive that's it. Bus drivers make 60k+ a year. I think they are getting away with doing absolutely as less as possible as bus drivers. They could care less if you are trying to cross the street to get to their bus or if people move back. I want metro to look into this behavior before someone get hit trying to cross the street to get a bus or an altercation ensues on a bus because one passenger tells another passenger to move back. Please let Metro know that there is more to being a Bus Driver than just driving the bus. Thank!
