Description

Ok, again, there aren't clear street numbers here, but this is the intersection of Parkwood and S. Randolph, including the bridge overpass over 195. Draw a circle of 100 feet around that intersection and there's a bit of everything. There's graffiti -- stop signs, end caps to the overpass, etc. There's overgrown weeds. There's an empty, unkempt lot. It's beautiful in its degree of ugliness. Really an eyesore and especially so as a gateway to the Randolph neighborhood. The piece de resistence may be that the street sign looks ready to fall off the pole. Seriously, does anyone from the city even pay attention for things to get this out of hand?

And the empty lot. Maybe we'd cut the property a bit of slack because it *seems* there might be construction next door, but this isn't acceptable.

C'mon people. That address is totally legit. It's the intersection of S. Randolph and Parkwood. It's probably partly city property and partly private. That it takes 10 days for someone to pretend this is a bad address and close the issue is embarrassing. Is there any way you can't understand where this issue is. SCF even puts a totally accurate pin on the map for you.

Wait, let me guess: the Division of Property Maintenance Code Enforcement is going to tell me this: "in order for the department to proceed on this complaint; we will need the actual address of the property in question. The address provided was invalid." Then we'll get to do this all again.

Some of the stuff on this ticket is probably the responsibility of DPW and some is probably the domain of Code Enforcement. This area is so neglected and there are so many issues, it probably makes sense for someone from the city to go out and look at it in person and assign tasks to the appropriate city departments.

So, so lazy, @City of Richmond. Go back and read the comments. And note that this location has already been found and worked. It's a really obvious, really clear, really easy-to-identity intersection. If you can't find this location, I really wonder how any work gets done at all, ever.

CRS# 20020908658 overgrown weeds was completed on 7/30/13 & CRS# 20020908660 graffiti was completed on 7/31/13. CRS# 20020923721 for damaged street sign was added for repairs & CRS# 20020923722 was added for the vegetation and overgrown lot. Both of the new requests include your personal email address so that you will receive the updates as they occur.
