Hi Mary, thanks for replying. I half-way agree with you. I think we don't want to encourage too much traffic on Augur St. because there are a lot of children, elderly folks and families living along there. At the same time, I wonder if it's possible to have both two-way driving as well as on street parking, as I saw on similar sized streets in the midwest. Streets like that were often avoided by out of neighborhood drivers because it was nearly impossible to get through them without having to stop several times, which created natural traffic calming. Having two way traffic would make navigating the neighborhood much easier for residents, and with the addition of on street parking, would make it pointless for out of neighborhood drivers to zoom through on their way somewhere else.

No I am sorry you miss the point totally. You can have two way traffic on the street just as it was for many decades or you can stall it with parked cars. You can not do both. (but you already knew that when you tried to bait me into this conversation) As for encouraging traffic, look at the population count of Hamden and you tell me. Want to stick you head in the sand a little deeper?
