People have to shop. The traffic signal is right before that entrance to Huron Foods. Slow down man, let the cars in front of you make a right turn. my my slow down!

Why does everyone have to be in such a hurry? Slowing down to let someone pull into a shopping center is that much of an inconvenience? Wow!

Simple solution drive at a safe distance behind the car in front of you, leaving enough room to stop. Does govenment need to legislate this too?

remember ...driving is a privaledge not an entitlement
and you can lose that privaledge by not driving within the standard guidelines of safe driving. maybe when u get older you will realize this as a fact of life.

Ok folks..... My speed had nothing to do with it, I know the laws of driving so don't sit on here and say "ignorance of the law is no excuse" or anything that is a negative comment towards me. I'm not the only one that has had this issue, the car in front of me had the same issue with the person that turned. That entrance should not be there due to it being so close to the light. I have lived in Waterford all of my life I went to Donelson as a kid, so I have seen too many times people almost rear-ending someone right there. I follow the laws, I don't ride people and I don't speed in a 35 MPH area; nor any other area.

People need to be aware that people do need to pay attention to the fact this could be an issue, people come to a near stop when in the road still to turn into Huron Foods.

Drive a little slower and you will not have to slam on your brakes. It's an entrance to a grocery store of course you have to slow down when people pull in. What are you in a hurry for anyway

The simplest solution to this for you would be to position yourself in the other lane as you approach that light. Then, if someone is turning into the store, you won't have to deal with it; you can drive right on by. That store has been there forever, and I seriously doubt that they will want to eliminate one of their driveways just because people are in a rush or are too distracted to pay attention. There are driveways all along that entire stretch of Huron St.; it's an URBAN AREA. Goes w/ the territory.

What makes the difference if the light is there or not? Actually that is better as you should be prepared to stop for the light.

I love that you all are being negative towards me, I grew up in the area and I drive past there everyday 2 times a day. I have seen too many times where theres been close calls because of that entrance. Yes people slow down to enter stores, what have you... but they do not need to come to a full stop when entering there. the speed limit is posted as 35 MPH. People speed through there, does not mean I am. When theres a train of people having to stop short because someone has come to a stop to enter there then there is a problem of some kind.

I'll agree with Tiffany. This has been a problem since the store was Felice's, and was worse when M59 experienced a much heavier traffic flow. The first entrance is just too close to the intersection. I believe there are an additional two entrances to the market. Shouldn't the owners of the market be a little concerned about the locals (mostly elderly) that frequent the store.

Actually, the first entrance also serves the law office on the corner of Josephine and Huron. It is somewhat inconvenient, but basically people just need to hang up the phone and pay attention to driving the car--especially on that stretch of road, which has driveways to various businesses about every 50 or 100 feet. People who don't want to have to deal with those ahead who make right turns should not be in the right lane to begin with, for their own convenience and everyone else's safety.

Quit tailgating and everything will be ok. Also so the 35 mph speed limit.

They need to add an extra lane for people turning into Huron
Foods. This will keep people safe from getting rear ended.

theyd have to buy out the law office to add a right turn lane. that wont happen. just let her rear end somebody the cop will let her have it and she will drive down eliz lk rd for the rest of our lives hopefully.Help resolve this with a comment, image or video...

They should put up a sign to warn people.

It makes me laugh that everyone automatically assumes that someones been tailgating, or one the phone.
What about the ones that do follow the law... Not going over 35, Not on the phone(talking or texting), not tailgating?????
Ive lived in this area for over 30yrs and have seen too many close calls there because people DO come to a near stop when turning into that entrance.
This is a problem, people should not be stopping so much at that entrance just to turn into Huron foods, There IS another entrance just a little further down....Use it

Thank you for those of you who understand where my concern comes from. It has been an issue for a long time, I remember when it was Felice's and watched many slide from someone stopping, not slowing but stopping to turn into the entrance. There is no excuse for someone to stop when entering there. Yes there are 2 other entrances/exits for that parking lot, 1 is further down towards Voorhies and 1 is off of Josephine.

Everyone keeps criticizing me for no reason whatsoever. Obviously you are not reading the whole thing and just want to make negative remarks towards whatever you feel like.
I personally have only had the issue one time, I live in that area and have seen it happen time and time again. I do drive in the other lane so that I dont have the problem. And Tom who said anything about a cop?? You NEGATIVE people can keep closing this issue and I WILL reopen it every time if someone else has not!!!!!

Wouldn't Tiffany have to sit there with a camera or camcorder to get the pictures or videos?? Its not like she could quickly take a picture with her phone(if it even takes pictures) when a "close call" happens.I agree with Tiffany that this should be open for others to make comments,(except for the people who keep being nasty) or for people to be more aware of the problem.

Tiffany can go down to the police station and have them look up how many accidents have happened at this corner.
Like Kayla said we need some proof to keep this open.
There are too many issues posted for eastern Waterford which
makes it look like a bad place to live.

This issue is a NON-ISSUE. The same problem could be said for Kennedy's, Pontiac Dental, the bank, CVS, etc. Should we drive safer, or close all of those businesses as well?

Tiffany has a right to post this as open because people need to be aware, when people scan through all the issues and sees that there are close calls there, they'll be more aware when they drive on Huron at Josephine.

ATTENTION ATTENTION. YESTERDAY EVENING, I SUCCESSFULLY PULLED INTO THE FIRST ENTRANCE OF HURON FOODS GOING WESTBOUND ON HURON. I, FIRST, WITH THE UPMOST ATTENTION TO DETAIL TURNED ON MY BLINKER ABOUT 50 YARDS BEFORE THE ENTERANCE. AT THIS POINT THE CAR BEHIND ME MOVED OVER INTO THE OTHER LANE, WOW THAT WAS THE FIRST CLOSE CALL. I THEN BEGAN MY DEACCELERATION. AGIAN! A CAR BEHIND ME MOVED OVER ONE LANE. WHOA CLOSE CALL FOR THE SECOND TIME. AS I APPROACHED JOSEPHINE I APPLIED EVEN MORE PRESSURE TO MY BRAKES. AS MY BLINKNER CONTINUEED TO BLINK AND MY BRAKES CONTINUED TO BRAKE, IT CAME TIME FOR ME TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF "I HOPE THERE ARE NO MORE CARS BEHIND ME!" THERE WAS! I NOTICED THAT HE TOO WAS SLOWING DOWN. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF "DID HE SEE MY BRAKE LIGHTS? DID HE SEE MY BLINKER?" HE MUST HAVE! HE WAS A SAFE DISTANCE BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE MY TURN!
