Description
I have lived in Alameda for 5 years and have seen as many accidents here. I believe one was a child fatality as ascertained by memorials tied to poles on the corner.
Unfamiliar motorists coming down Everett often mistakenly think there is a 4-way stop here and proceed into moving cross traffic. There are a lot of pedestrians here, including small children coming to and from martial arts and tumbling classes. Many motorists on Santa Clara speed through this intersection, despite the crosswalk. A 4-way stop would slow them down.

Dear M H,
Thank you for requesting all-way stop signs at the intersection of Santa Clara Avenue and Everett Street. This item has been reviewed in recent past, and the intersection did not meet the State and City warrants for an installation. However, since you have provided additional information regarding the intersection, staff will see what else can be done to improve the existing conditions.
Staff receives various transportation related requests and we review them in the order that they are received. The current wait time is approximately 4-8 weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions.
In the future, staff suggests that you consider using the City of Alameda's "Alameda Access" program to submit concerns or requests. Alameda Access directs your concerns/requests to the appropriate departments and therefore, provides a quicker response time. You can access it through the City of Alameda's website: https://clients.comcate.com/newrequest.php?id=25
Sincerely,
Alan Ta
