I totally agree!

Mass Ave east of Arlington Center is scheduled to be totally rebuilt.

Unfortunately the new design narrows the roadway significantly. The people who chose this design must have forgotten the winter 2 years ago, when parking on all side streets in East Arlington was banned for *weeks*, and Mass Ave was the only place to park because it had enough width.

Or the people in charge could also come take a look at how Mass Ave works at rush hour today. It's a pleasure for my bus to breeze by a double-parked UPS truck, a car waiting to turn left, or the line of cars waiting to get into the Dunkin parking lot. If the road is narrowed, any obstruction will bring everything to a halt.

And the proposed bike lanes aren't the problem. There's plenty of width for bike lanes and multiple general lanes each way, as long as we don't waste width on a wide median.
