Description
I have reported time and time again about the issue of drainage or lack of drainage. The city closed my issue as they stated it was resolved/taken care of. I'm fully aware I live in a flood zone and there are beavers in the area but i shouldn't have stagnant water on my property. There is ONE drain that is responsible for filtering the water across Hodges Street into Crabtree Creek. WHO is responsible for keeping the drain open, not me that's for sure. One thing I've learned is no one is being held responsible for clearing the drain. My emails to James Riggs with the housing department are ignored. There are rules in place to make sure the property owner does what they're suppose to do. The city will issue a ticket if you're grass is too tall but they won't issue a ticket to the property owner who is responsible for keeping the drain open. This body of water is a breeding ground for Mosquitos and other pesky animals.

A beaver dam continues to be an issue at this location. City staff met with property staff and they are aware the maintenance of any storm drainage conveyance or structure on their property is their responsibility. Threequartersfull Properties, LLC is responsible for keeping the drain pipe clear. The City can issue a citation to the property owner requiring them to clear the blockage obstructing the pipe but the City cannot require the property owner to trap or remove the beavers.
The owners of the property have removed the beaver dam as of today, however unless the beavers are trapped and removed from the property this will be a continual problem. Staff will monitor the area on a routine basis and initiate a case if needed in the future. For now the pipe has been cleared and there is not violation.

I am disappointed in the handling of the situation and only fear this problem is going to get worse.
