Now the state has repaved the entire road so it is even nicer to speed around! Curious that they felt a need to improve the road without slowing traffic especially since this road has two schools and a major church on it with crosswalks that 98% of drivers ignore! The wisdom of the CT DOT is amazing.

Interesting that it is a "state road" but was only repaved up to the end of New Haven line at South End Rd. as opposed to all the way to the end of the road.

Yes, "other" as in: we're not going to do a thing about this. The large lighted "warning" sign was knocked down completely by an out of control hit and run speeder in August. Action taken? The city/state or whoever disconnected the light line, laid the sign face down on the right of way, placed a cone over it, and left it there.

Oh my! They finally put up the warning sign again that laid on the ground for over 6 months due to a driver racing around the curve to go out of control and knocking it completely over & breaking a steel post in the process! But no, speed on the curve isn't a problem.
The wooden protectors have to be replaced so often it is laughable if it weren't for the fact that we as residents have to pay high taxes to continually replace them or pay to have them put back in place after being run over endlessly. But no,speed on the curve isn't a problem.
A light or "speed humps" are necessary.

Several more "guard posts" have been knocked down, ripped apart and been repaired (or not), yet another stone wall on personal property has been damaged just beyond the curve since this was reported 330 days ago. It will not be dealt with because this is supposedly a state issue that the city has nothing to do with. Interesting, isn't it? Maybe we should be calling the state police every time an accident or incident occurs on this road.

If anyone in the city really cared, they would approach the state about this curve. It's absurd to be told we can't do anything because it's a state road. Ridiculous! It is no longer the 1700's coach road, it is a very populated residential area within the city of New Haven's geographical limits and needs to be treated as such. There's already been too many human injuries to include at least one death at this curve, public and private property damaged, and an impossible end of sidewalk to cross on this curve to get to the Pardee Seawall park. It's time to stop ignoring this and DO SOMETHING to protect people trying to walk, live, and drive in without having to take their lives in their hands because the city and the state can't figure it out (and too many drivers of all kinds of vehicles to include the state snowplows take this curve and entire road WAY TOO FAST as though it actually is a state highway.
