Description

Service vehicles and motorists are often at odds on this stretch of Argyle road, an each will lay on the horn excessively to vent frustrations at the others.

A small sign already exists as in many other neighborhoods indicating that horn blowing is not allowed except for danger. This is routinely ignored not only by private motorists, but by e.g. sanitation department trucks who should be trained to heed city regulations.

Just a few minutes ago a sanitation truck laid on the horn for literally 30 seconds, at 8AM, as the driver impatiently waited for an idling Access-A-Ride truck to move.

As a resident on this block it's impossible to enjoy a quiet morning, even inside my apartment. The problem exists at all times of the day but is particularly bad in the morning as school buses, elderly transit, and sanitation trucks are all active along with morning commuters.

Can anything be done to help this? I don't know if it is an education issue or an enforcement issue but I'm guessing that a positive impact could be made using either or both measure. If nothing else then city employees should be encourage to heed the horn blowing regulation.
