Description

The pavement is very bumpy between Westside Pkwy and 400 on Old Milton eastbound.

Thank you for reporting this issue. The matter has been advanced to our Engineering / Public Works Department for review and follow-up.

Please note that Old Milton Parkway is a state highway under the jurisdiction of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). As such, the City is unable to directly address this issue. Our staff will, however, report the matter to GDOT and request action.

Staff from the Department of Engineering and Public Works met with GDOT yesterday and discussed the issues along this corridor. GDOT is aware of the situation and is working on a solution to alleviate the bumps.

Is anything ever going to be done about this? The bump when exiting 400 South to Old Milton westbound is very dangerous. There is a keep moving sign and this bump causes a vehicle to lurch towards other lanes of traffic. Please advise what can be done about this. This was originally reported over 2 years ago.

As previously indicated, the City of Alpharetta cannot address this issue directly, as the location is controlled and maintained by the Georgia Department of Transportation. Your comments have been forwarded to that agency along with a renewed request for attention.

Another year has passed and this has not been addressed. Is GDOT ever going to do anything about this stretch of road?

GDOT has no current plans to address Old Milton Parkway. The City of Alpharetta continues to express its disatisfaction with the current condition of this State Highway and request attention to maintenance issues by the State.

As this issue is not one that the City has the authority to address directly, the report stream is being closed. Alpharetta officials will continue to pursue proper repair and maintenance of this State Highway by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Try adding a few street lights in this town! You have to be a bat to see the onramp to the 400 N from Old Milton Road!!!
