Description

I approach this intersection headed north on N Capitol with a lot of trepidation. There are speed cameras in use there, and while I have no problem with that, I do think that its unfair to drivers to not at the same time place an indicator as to how much time is left before the North Capitol Street light turns yellow. Also, given the bend in North Capitol Street on the approach uphill to Harewood, its nerve wracking to be approaching this intersection at the 40 miles an hour posted speed and not have a clear view of the light or how long I have until it turns yellow. In essence, if its green I have to maintain speed or risk being hit from behind, in order to make it through the light before it turns yellow. And, there's no way to tell when the light will turn yellow. However, if drivers saw a blinking indicator as to how much time was remaining, ideally they could gauge the time they had to make it through the intersection before the light would change. This is a problem only headed north on North Capitol Street.
