Description
The light timing is based on a fixed schedule and not by vehicle presence. Works OK for much of the day but not during lighter loads where one has to wait too long for nobody to get a green light.

The intersection of N. Glebe Road and Fairfax Drive does have vehicle sensors that you will find in the pavement.
During the day, you may be experiencing some shortened green lights due to heavy pedestrian traffic (crosswalk buttons), but nothing significant.
Traffic Engineering and Operations Staff will be checking the intersection to confirm that the sensors are working properly, but there are sensors.
