Description

Route 401 has insufficient capacity to handle westbound traffic during the evening rush hour. Most days, it is a crawl from Phoenixville Pike up the hill to Valley Hill Rd. A second westbound lane needs to be added so that trucks and other slow moving vehicles do not clog up the roadway. As an interim step, trucks should be prohibited on this section of roadway until a truck climbing lane can be added.
