Actually, additional stop signs were put in at that corner almost 8 years ago. The stop sign on Hayes was set so far back that it was impossible to see if someone was coming up the hill, putting the person who stopped and then moved into the intersection at risk. There were many close calls as speeders charged up the hill. The stop signs are there to require all who enter the Vichy/Hayes intersection to stop and be safe. I'll bet the "speeders" who blow through the intersection are the same thoughtless people who toss litter out their car windows.

The stop sign on Hayes has been there for all of the 34years we have lived here. People still fly thru that sign but the two that were put on Vichy only 2 years ago and create a worse problem.
The people that fought for those signs are the worse offenders. Take a walk some day and just watch the cars fly thru all ways. We need an occasional police car to watch out of site.

The two newer stop signs were added between November 2004 and January 2005. By January 11, 2005 there were numerous messages thanking the dedicated residents involved and the outstanding efforts of the Department of Public Safety.
To say that "The people that fought for those signs are the (worst) offenders" is unfair. The people who worked on that improvement have moved away and it would be highly unlikely that you would see them returning to the old neighborhood to go through those, or for that matter, any stop signs.

It really doesn,t matter whenthe stop signs were put up or who put them up or who moved away!!!!!! The point is the stop signs are not being obeyed!!!!

As with any neighborhood issue, the best thing to do is to get involved with other neighbors to ask for help. There already is an organized group that has resolved many problems. They would welcome you as a member.
