Description
We have resided here for 5 years. This is a TCHC building. Last August our kitchen ceiling developed leaks, and I called in the problem. The confirmation # is 3660759. It would be repaired in a few weeks, we were told originally. When nothing happened, we spoke to maintenance staff, and they were unable to help, as the roof needed re-shingling, and TCHC head office had to approve the cost. After parts of the ceiling began to fall, further contacts were made with TCHC, in September and October. Finally, I was informed by maintenance it would not be done until Spring, in March. Many sleepness nights ensued through the winter, combating leaks, until March arrived. Nothing was done. After a chunk of our ceiling collapsed, destroying a coffee maker and a plant, I called and spoke to Udo Rohmann , the Operating Unit Manager. This was April, after Donna Clements and Elvira Dos Santos both proved unable or unwilling to assist. Mr. Rohmann assured me the work would begin within ten days. That was in late April. Since then, the ceiling has collapsed more, leaving us a three foot by two foot hole in the ceiling. This week, again nothing has happened in the way of repairs. We've had more damage, two more plants, and an old steamer trunk rusted shut. And the most severe damage is to our nerves! This week, ten messages left for Mr. Rohmann, and two with Gene Jones, have gone unanswered, and another chunk of ceiling will likely collapse also.
you have had tremendous success in getting TCHC to fufill their obligations as a landlord. We are hoping and praying that you will be able to assist us, also.
We really hope to hear from you soon!
Best Regards,
Cliff Dwyer.

TCHC is a separate agency from the City of Toronto, and can be contacted either at 416-981-5500 or help@torontohousing.ca to report housing issues. As this issue is over five years stale and will never be actioned where it is, I'll close this off.
(Note that there was a pilot project to report TCHC issues through SeeClickFix but it appears to have ended over four years ago.)
