Description

The tree in front of 18 Whalley Avenue (between Patricia's Restaurant and the Courtyard Marriot) needs very badly to be pruned and cut back.

The Parks and Recreation Tree Division was notified back last fall about this issue, and was informed that there was a SeeClickFix ticket opened. That ticket is now about 2 1/2 years old, and has still not been acted upon (Issue ID = 67796).

Attached are several pictures taken on 2013-05-25. In some of the pictures, you can actually see some very low hanging limbs that are actually starting to impeded foot traffic on the sidewalk.

The limbs and branches of this tree are now reaching the building at 18 Whalley Avenue, and some are directly over that building. If any of those higher (and larger) limbs come down, they will land on the building, likely causing some serious and catastropic damage. The city will be responsible for any damage (seeing I have been trying to get this issue resolved for quite some time now), and the tree is on city property.

Please advise if the City is required to perform maintenance on this tree, or if a private contractor can be hired to prune (HEAVILY prune) this tree, or if the tree can be completely taken down (if deemed a hazard).
