Description

The curbcut and part of the path on the inbound side of the Ruggles/Whittier Street intersection along the SW Corridor Bike Path was removed last week and work seems to have been halted, without indication as to when/if it will be replaced, and what detour to take. For bike commuters, this is equivalent to a line of jersey barriers being strung across the pike or 93. We are forced to either ride the wrong way into the bus lane to a curb cut about 40' in (the upset busdrivers waiting for their green light "hop and jump" their busses from idle in what I take to be a threat), or ride down to Tremont Street and risk our lives riding a few blocks on that 4 lane highway with motorists who are upset because we are not on the parallel bike path! This is untenable and would be in the best interest for everyone to be repaired as quickly as possible upon excavation, not left to sit for so long......
