5/8/2013 - Thanks so much for your communication with Richmond City - please use descriptive words and sentences instead of ordinance numbers to request investigation - the backround Service Order system does not use codes and ordinance numbers but category names

Dear RVA Care Warrior, the city has indeed responded to ordinance numbers to request investigations. However, as it appears that those investigating violations of ordinances are not familiar with the ordinances themselves, this particular ordinance, 2007-230-275, comes from a small hand-out at the information desk in city hall, main floor. You should pick one up. I won't quote all of it, particularly the times, but it states that "Supercans left in the public right-of way outside of those times are in violation of City Code." Hope this helps and good luck.
Your concern has been received however the exact address is needed so that proper inspection and handling can take place accordingly. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at 804-646-7000. We appreciate your communication that helps us in “Building The Best Richmond” together.
The address is as given in the original complaint: 2226 Burton Street. Actually it is blocking the sidewalk beside 2226 Burton Street but since earlier complaints gave a block rather than a specific house address were kicked back as impossible to handle, I figured I'd give a specific house address as earlier advised even tho the problem is on the sidewalk next to that address. Makes it difficult to have the city handle community issues if a house address, as required, is not sufficient for the complaint; but a complaint which does not list a specific house address will not be handled. Anyhow, the address as originally given in this complaint is the "exact address...needed so that proper inspection and handling can take place accordingly." Don't know how else to handle this since the city requires an exact address to handle a complaint even if the complaint is on the sidewalk beside the exact address and a complaint giving just block information isn't handled at all. Would a picture help? There are 4 or 5 city "super" cans and other debris blocking pedestrian access to the sidewalk directly beside the exact address as given in the original complaint. Don't know what else to send since the exact address has already been given, even tho the complaint is about the sidewalk right next to that exact address but not putting the exact address but only the block information means the city won't investigate the problem anyway. Seems this mayoral initiative has kind of a catch-22 situation going on here.
5/9/2014 - Service Review: Richmond Solid Waste Mgmt Team (20020925442) noted when they did this inspection the cans reported were not on City Right Of Way - 2226 Burton St is not showing on our work order system as an actual address in Richmond City. An investigation was made for the vicinity of Burton and Jessamine St - again Solid Waste inspections reveal the cans are not on City right of way - (20020925442) - case file closed - rtt
