Today, 5-8-13. Once again, standing in water fishing at the first bridge, was approached by older male on opposite bank showing lewd gestures. Had to "encourage him with no uncertain terms" to make him leave. While at my vehicle with the trunk open before leaving, ANOTHER white pickup truck that had been cruising up down with one male pulled off the road and next to my vehicle with the window down. He exits the vehicle says hi and continues moving towards me. I told him I was not gay and was not interested in any of that and if that is why he was there, he needed to move on. He persists that he wants to "talk". I tell him Limestone County has been called and they are on the way. At that point he promptly enters his vehicle and leaves. Got pictures some of these vehicles. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE on public land preserved for enjoyment of fisherman, kayakers, hikers, bicyclists. There are people in Mooresville that will not allow their children to simply go to the bridge and fish during the day. THAT is a shame! I don't even feel safe out there but I refuse to be driven away by such lowlifes!!! For every problem there is a solution. There MUST be a solution to this particular now defiled place.

I find it frustrating and distressing that somehow some guy walking along the river banks can get arrested for arrowhead hunting or fined for a fishing license but deviant sexual activities and stalking and prostitution and continue to THRIVE in a specific area. I have been waiting for two days just to hear from the Wildlife Refuge Officer! HAD TO LEAVE MY NUMBER!!!! Really? Sure can't let some perverts get in the way of prosecuting arrowhead hunters!!!!

Nothing has changed...nothing appears to have been done....no signs....no gates....no fences....no brush clearing....BUT plenty of perverts! Went to Mooresville with wife to ride bicycles as a lot of bicyclists do. A white Toyota Camry pulled up next to us and asked about a restaurant that was supposed to be there. We told him there was a restaurant there but it was only opened during lunch on weekdays. After that he spent over an hour driving back and forth and parking in the area the Peres have designated at the meeting spot. He was simply looking for the hookup spot by disguising his inquiry to us. On a Sunday afternoon the barrage of vehicles containing one male occupant inappropriately dressed for normal outdoor activities native to the area...such as fishing, bicycling, hiking...was way above normal. Yes....no problem with people driving out there to look at the water level or check for decent fishing conditions, etc....I do...but it is as simple as detecting night and day to determine who is there for what reason. I drive and pull next to the bridges and look over the side to see the water level and if there is a bunch of wash off floating on the water, then I either park and fish or turn around and leave for another good fishing area. These folks are dressed for work, drive by each parked vehicle slowly gawking, pull down to the second bridge and then wait for a hookup. After waiting a time they start cruising the area....back and forth and back and forth....they will stop and watch a guy fish...they will stop and try to converse with you. Look, if some guy stopped in his car and had a fishing pole with him or his old hiking and fishing clothes on and wanted to ask if the fishing was any good or if I had caught anything, I will talk and be friendly BUT when the guy has nothing but himself dressed like he was going or coming from work or a dinner engagement or a wedding or a funeral or whatever and has driven by more than once the motive becomes painfully obvious. With all the technology in this world, and especially in this area of alabama, something CAN be done to curb this unnatural behavior....ignoring it only enforces it. Be it known right now....if the situation arises whereas I feel physically threatened, my movements are blocked, my personal space invaded by no invitation of mine, or I feel I am in imminent danger...I will act and I will act with extreme force out of the preservation of my own life and well being. ONCE AGAIN...LEAVE THE MAN FISHING ALONE....PERIOD! If people think that a fisherman is out there with no personal protection, then that person is a fool of the highest degree. I am an ex-vet with more than adequate training to take direct action and eliminate the threat. These perverts are invading a federally protected wildlife refuge and are instilling an unnecessary fear of this highly diverse and natural area intended for the enjoyment of all ages to commune and learn about the natural surroundings, not the unnatural perversions of despicable humans....we get enough of that from TV, radio, the Internet! It sure seems these days we spend a lot of time protecting the wierd minor groups that crop up all the time no matter how much those groups go against the sanctity of a fre and normal life. NO THIS ISSUE IS NOT CLOSED....AND WON'T BE UNTIL ADEQUATE AND DECISIVE MEASURES HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE TO PROTECT THE REST OF US!

What time of day and days do you see activity? I want to see if we can work with law enforcement on this.

3-6 pm weekdays...Saturdays various times. Just past that bridge is a dirt road to the left that leads to the boat ramp and further, a nice point to fish from. Was out with the wife on a Saturday at the point when an individual walked up from seemingly nowhere. He saw us, turn around and walked a short ways and hid behind a tree, but only well enough for me to still see him. Once I stood and stared at him, he promptly left. Weird. Anyhow, there are regulars I see out there. In fact one of them appears to actually be on google maps...small white car. I pretty much quit going out there. Not relaxing or an enjoyment anymore. I love fishing the creeks and res and I'm sure, unknowingly, I have invaded a few of their other places in search of good fishing. After doing a search for bulletin boards and such that they use to advertise, I am appalled at the places these ingrates have chosen as meeting spots...for example, there's a Home Depot bathroom designated as a spot. Be sure to always go with your kids to public restrooms! Evidently this type of underground behavior has been going on for quite a long time...I was not aware. [removed]. I spoke with a kayaking guide company rep that was out there for a tour to warn him of the situation...he was already aware. Seems EVERYONE is aware but....

But like I said, their main area is the second bridge, which is the last bridge before the dirt road. Also, the gravel pulloff just before the end of the asphalt beyond the second bridge. The incessant driving back and forth across both bridges. The stopping and harassing of folks fishing and such. Kids, teens, fishing, canoeing, kyacking....I don't know the solution but I know that not doing anything only gives license for more activity....and possibly more places...just glad my kids are grown.

Apparently the area is owned by Huntsville City. They have erected a couple of signs stating it is unlawful to park and loiter...something to that effect. Appears they are doing some road work at the intersection of Mooresville road and Old Hwy 20 (the corner where the right turn to the bridges are). I don't go out there much anymore. On the occasions I have, there is plenty of traffic and still truckers hanging out at the end of the pavement. Cars with single men cruising back and forth, etc. Nothing has really changed and now knowing Huntsville is involved I am convinced it will never change and will probably get worse.
