Our toilet pump & the cold water in our kitchen sink failed yesterday, and the water runs red/brown now. I wonder if the excessive levels of sediment have filled our pipes or damaged the pump? Is there someplace we can contact to find out and get restitution?
Yea, I don't mean a pump actually, I meant the float--the toilet won't refill with water unless you jiggle the float. It's just odd because it started at the same time as the cold water not running.
I was wondering if the float's path along the rod is mired with sediment? because it just seems to not move on it's own. I'll drain the tank and mess with it when I have some time.
The thing that is more worrisome is the cold water not working in the kitchen (works in every other room). Makes me think that pipe is full of crud, and I hate thinking that my landlord will have to pay for repair on that.
Just a suggestion. I realize it's probably quite simple, but it needs to be offered.
Mr. Streever must inform his out of town landlord who should to consult with a licensed plumber.
