Description
I don't know what the people at the Highway Department are thinking, but the 4-lane part of Route 378 has been patched so many times, that the patches' patches' patches have patches on them!
This road is an absolute shambles! It is literally crumbling under our tires!!
This shouldn't even be considered a road, because it's NOT a road-- it's a LOGGING TRAIL!!
I visited the U.S.S.R. during the time of Communism and the roads were in better condition than this one!!!
As far as I'm concerned, this 4-lane stretch of Route 378 is the absolute WORST ROAD in the Capital District, HANDS DOWN!!

I think someone should make another posting on this subject, and add in some pictures of the myriad of potholes and cracks on this road. It is disgusting that this heavily-traveled road gets so little attention, at the expense of all the vehicle owners whose cars are getting damaged by this neglected shambles of a highway.
This is hands down one of the worst roads in the Capital District!!
Perhaps also, people should send numerous letters to the editor of the Times Union, because this situation is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!
The streets and highways of the entire Menands/Watervliet/Cohoes corridor are in terrible disrepair, and perhaps if enough people get angry enough, something MIGHT be done about it.
I just think it's unfortunate that the taxpayers of this community are forced to deal with this neglegent incompetence from our highway departments!
God forbid a section of the highway buckles in on itself, or one of the rotten, rusty, crumbling bridges collapses and people get killed. You'd think that the State would rather fix the problem first, rather than worrying about multi-million dollar lawsuits later!!! But that would be too logical.
