Increase the speed limit from 25mph to 35mph for this area.
Speed limits are great when they suit the roads, otherwise, people wouldn't be speeding.
If the speed limit was 35mph, people wouldn't do 40.
I couldn't agree more. Cops love to sit on side streets and ticket here. It's boulderdash and an opportunity for the township to make bank on good upstanding citizens.
This is ridiculous. It is a residential area with school, pool and park within a stone's throw away. Far too many little ones running around to encourage even more speeding. People hardly stop at the stop signs as is, add an additional 10 mph and they won't even slow down!
There is a school but no where near this section, a pool no where near here and a park that is recessed into a wooded area. There aren't any children playing along the side of this road.
Here's the problem with increasing the speed limit. There are a TON of side streets that cars try turning onto Ridley Ave from. Many of them do not have good visibility of Ridley Ave, especially from 420 to the Creek. Not to mention speeding around that curve usually means not staying in your lane. It's 25 now and people go easily 35. If it was bumped up to 35, would people be going 45?! I'm sick of driving about 30 down Ridley Ave and having people tailgate me. I won't hesitate to lock up my brakes next time it happens. If it's too slow for you, Chester Pike and MacDade are not too far from there, use those roads.
Please don't lower the speed limit. Drivers speed already over the present speed and raising the speed limit would only give the speeders the mind set to go faster then the new limit. Keep at 23 and thanks.
Sorry, mis-type! I meant, keep at 25 not 23.
